The Terrace is based at the four star Montagu Arms Hotel, located in the beautiful village of Beaulieu and surrounded by the glorious scenery of the New Forest. We are looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager to help us deliver exceptional customer service for guests dining in the Terrace Restaurant and visiting the Magnolia Lounge and Library Bar.  This role offers the variety of working in the fine dining of the Terrace Restaurant alongside private functions and weddings, afternoon tea and events such as our Jazz Lunch etc.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and motivating your team of staff, co-ordinating rotas, stock control, maintaining three AA standards and complying with Health & Safety requirements.  You will ensure your team provides a professional and efficient service, with the aim of always exceeding customer expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity to work at an award winning hotel and restaurant, and would suit someone looking to make use of their existing skills to further develop their hospitality career.  We require candidates with management experience in a three or four star hotel and a focus on fine dining, particularly Michelin starred or three AA Rosette, would be very welcome.  The role would suit someone with a strong Food & Beverage background, who is an adaptable team player with proven leadership qualities. We require a hotel porter to work 40 hours per week on a permanent basis.  Must be immaculately presented and have a friendly, customer focused manner.  Duties will include welcoming guests into the hotel, providing valet parking, escorting guests to bedrooms, luggage assistance, concierge duties and maintaining public areas of the hotel to a high standard.  This role requires a good level of physical fitness due to the nature of the work, and a full driving licence.   To include weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.

Summary of Job Purpose:

As Wedding and Events Administrator, you will assist with the sales, co-ordination and delivery of conference, weddings and groups business to support the hotels’ overall commercial targets.

You will possess excellent organisational skills. You will be used to working independently and as part of a team in a changing and multi-tasking environment with numerous deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Log enquiries for conference, event on Opera
  • Update Opera with any updates/changes to weddings and event bookings on Opera (i.e. rooming lists, booking status changes) and communicate those updates/changes to the relevant HODs
  • To assist in the selling, coordination and implementation the weddings, conferences, group and corporate event business at Montagu Arms Hotel in line with the overall companies’ strategic objectives.
  • To assist in reactively fielding sales calls, negotiating rates to maximise the conversion of enquires from all sources in line with business levels and agreed targets.
  • To work with external partners and third parties in appropriate organisations who can assist with the achievement and development of business targets.
  • To produce the weekly function sheets ensuring information is accurate and detailed.
  • To arrange for the financial aspects relating to events and conferences to be processed in line with our payment terms and conditions.
  • To proactively work towards achieving the company’s financial targets
  • To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required.

The role is part-time, 15 hours per week (to be worked over 3 days).
