Guest Information

Arrival / Departure

Bedrooms are normally available from 2.30pm. On departure please settle your account and vacate your room by 11.00 am, after which time your temporary membership of the SenSpa health club ceases.

Parking

Complimentary Car Parking is available onsite to the rear of the hotel. Disabled spaces are located at the front of the hotel. If the car park is full, please ask for assistance at reception and a member of our team will be delighted to assist you.

Restaurant Services

Breakfast 7.00am ­- 9.30am | 8.00am - 10.00am (Saturdays and Sundays)
Dinner 6pm to 10pm (Last sitting at 8pm. The restaurant will close at 10pm)

We like you to feel comfortable throughout your stay at The Montagu Arms however we do request that no trainers or denim is worn in the Terrace restaurant.

Children

Children aged 3 years old or under can stay for free however please not they are unable to stay in the Hay Loft Suites.  Children under the age of 16 years old, sharing a room with adults will be charged at £35 per person per night including breakfast. Children under the age of 7 years old are not permitted to take dinner in The Terrace Restaurant, however children are welcome in Monty’s Inn.

SenSpa at Careys Manor Hotel

All guests staying at The Montagu Arms Hotel can enjoy complimentary use of the health club facilities at SenSpa, located at our sister hotel. This includes use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and gym. If you wish to swim a swimming lane must be pre-booked to aid social distancing. All guests staying in the hotel can also upgrade to use the spa facilities for £39 for a 2 hour session.  
Please note: Recent government guidelines stipulate that saunas and steam rooms must remain closed.

Terms and Conditions

A deposit equivalent to the value of the first night’s stay will be taken at the time of booking. Should you need to cancel your booking, the deposit is fully refundable until 14 days prior to the booked arrival date. Changes following this time, and up until 48 hours prior to arrival, the deposit will be held on your account for 365 days to allow you to rebook your stay for a later date.  Changes within 48 hours of arrival will result in the deposit being forfeited as a cancelation charge.

Please note: Some saturdays are subject to a minimum 2 night stay throughout the year. Dates vary according to availability.

VAT

The VAT rate for hotel accommodation, meals and non-alcoholic beverages decreased to 5% from 15 July 2020.

Guests that paid a deposit to us before 15 July 2020 for a stay after 15 July 2020 may wish to understand whether they are entitled to a partial refund in respect of the VAT element.

Our policy is that partial VAT refunds will not be made.

The reason for this is twofold:

  1. Our advertised rates are advertised as inclusive of VAT and not at a price plus VAT. This allows a guest to have certainty about the price they will pay and the obligation to meet the VAT thereon sits solely with us. This means that if the VAT rate goes up the guest will pay no more and if the VAT rate goes down, as it has done now, the guest will not receive a refund, and;
  2. Notwithstanding the above, we hope guests will understand that we and our entire industry are enduring the biggest challenge to business survival in living memory. As such we believe that not only are we legally entitled to retain the benefit of the VAT reduction we believe that it’s the right thing to do in order to return our business to a strong footing and to protect jobs.
