Accessibility at the Montagu Arms Hotel
At the Montagu Arms we should ensure that training is provided on the requirements of the law as it relates to persons with disabilities. Training should be provided in a way that best suits the duties and responsibilities of employees and other staff members.
Pre–arrivals
For pre-arrival assistance guests should be advised to contact the Receptionist
Reception
There is a ramp at the entrance to Reception and the desk is low level making it more accessible for guests using wheelchairs
Car parking
Parking bays for disabled guests can be found at the front of the hotel
Bedrooms
We do not have any bedrooms on the ground floor as the property is a grade 2 listed building and so any accessibility changes are not permitted and therefore can only be accessed by stairs.
Restaurants, Bars, Meeting & Event Rooms
The Oakwood Room, Paris Room, Terrace Restaurant and Library Bar are located on the ground floor and have direct access from the entrance, with no steps. The garden can be accessed via the side gate.
Toilets
There is a toilet frame available to use for anyone experiencing difficulty using the facilities independently. A disabled toilet is located in Monty’s Inn with an emergency pull cord.
Information and Communication
Where appropriate, the team will consult with people with disabilities to determine their information and communication needs. We provide reading glasses for those guests that are struggling to read the menus or have forgotten their own glasses and in addition to that our team is always happy to sit with the guests and help them read through the menus and answer any questions.
Accessible Emergency Information
We have a Hearing Loop at reception and will provide assistance to any guests who need emergency information.
Feedback
We ensure that the process for receiving and responding to feedback is accessible to persons with disabilities by providing assistance upon request.
