As a new addition to the Montagu Arms Management Team I am loving my time at this beautiful Hampshire Pub, if still finding my feet.
Running Monty’s, our new forest country pub is at times challenging but ultimately very rewarding. I feel very lucky to have inherited an amazing team, who have made me feel so welcome. With over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry I’ve worked in most front of house roles from conference and banqueting to pulling pints behind the bar. Joining Monty’s Pub has taken me back to my roots, working in a local pub with great food and it’s reignited my passion for bringing the pub back into the heart of the community.
Beaulieu is a beautiful New Forest village and Monty’s is full of character. My goal is to offer a warm welcome, traditional hospitality and great food and drink to all our guests who choose to visit this wonderful part of the New Forest.
The best part of my job is the people, the team I get to work with and the guests alike. We have an amazing job and get to help couples, families and friends celebrate and enjoy their time together. No matter the occasion I love to help people celebrate. I like to eat out and enjoy great food and having the chance to make that time special for our guests when they come to us is a joy.
The other end of the spectrum is developing our team, we are lucky to have some amazing youngsters that work in Monty’s. They often join us with little or no work experience and seeing them develop, grow in confidence and skill is wonderful.
When I’m not at Monty’s I spend time with my partner and our dog, but when at work I miss them. Luckily Monty’s is a dog friendly pub and we have lots of furry visitors, who I will spoil with gravy bones and cuddles.
