Margarita Cocktail Recipe

15th Jul 2019

To celebrate National Tequila Day why not toast with a classic citrus cocktail, the Margarita.

Part of the daisy cocktail family, which were popular in the early 20th century, the Margarita is a classic Spanish cocktail sure to remind you of sweet summer nights. Traditionally consisiting of spirit, citrus juice and something to both sweeten it up and to balance the citrus, the margarita is the epitome of a daisy cocktail. Margarita is also the Spanish word for daisy, so there really is no better name for this classic cocktail.

Method:

  1.  Coat the outside of the rim of the glass with lime juice using a wedge, and then gently roll the glass in the salt. Make sure that your glass is well chilled as it will help the salt to stick to the rim of the glass more easily.

  2. Shake all the ingredients with ice and double-strain into glass

  3. Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the side of the glass
