The thing with adventure is, they can be anything you want them to be. From simply escaping to the wonderful New Forest national park for some well-needed R&R to taking on the thrilling activities the New Forest has to offer.

And there are many adventure days to be had in the here in our National Park, ones hidden away from the hustle and bustle and ones you never knew existed, so why not set out to discover the hidden gems within our New Forest and let our country house hotel be your base of exploration.

There's nothing like taking to the water

Paddles at the ready, for a couple of hours on the tranquil Beaulieu River. Here you can look out for wildlife as you find some beautiful hidden spots only accessible by boat on the blissfully peaceful privately-owned estuary.

Perhaps you could begin your trail at the Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary. Here you can admire the beautiful fallow and roe deer before heading out on a tranquil forest foray. Whilst spotting these elegant creatures isn’t guaranteed, you have a good chance of seeing them because the herd is fed by a New Forest Keeper here between midday and 3pm daily.

Whilst you may intend to visit our New Forest hotel for adventure days based in an ancient woodland, perhaps consider too our proximity to the south coast and all the adventures that beholds. From relaxing walks along Lepe Beach at Lepe Country Park, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to strolls along the spit to Hurst Castle, an artillery fortress built by Henry VIII. Maybe thrilling chilly water swims are more your bag! Step in to the sea at Milford on Sea, Hordle Cliff or Barton on Sea, and if that’s not thrilling enough, book a speed-boat ride on the Solent! There really is an adventure for every type of explorer, you just have to know what you’re looking for.
