Furzey Gardens is a public garden on the edge of the picturesque New Forest village of Minstead. This small garden but interesting garden is perfect for a calming stroll or entertaining the children with a trail of over thirty fairy houses scattered across through the gardens. Filled with wildlife, connecting walkways and a large variety of trees, flowers and shrubs it is certainly a garden to admire.

Lyndhurst
Often considered the capital of the New Forest, the village of Lyndhurst is popular with locals and visitors alike. Just 15-minutes from the Montagu Arms, it provides an idyllic day out with a selection of shops, cafes and pubs as well direct access to the New Forest via Bolton's Bench. Located in the main car park you will also find the New Forest Heritage Centre featuring a fascinating museum, exhibition, reference library as well as a café and gift shop.

Buckler's Hard
Just a five-minute drive from the Montagu Arms you will find the once thriving picturesque shipbuilding village of Buckler’s Hard. Famous for building boats for Nelson’s fleet for the battle of Trafalgar the village has been preserved and is now a popular visitor attraction. There is plenty to do for both adults and children alike including a woodland trail or a visit the museum. If you are feeling energetic why not take the two-mile walk from the Montagu Arms.

The Beaulieu River
Enjoy the beauty of the Beaulieu River with a guided Family Canoeing Session with New Forest Activities. Suitable for all the family, the guided tour provides a unique vantage point for spotting the varied wildlife of this Site of Special Scientific Interest as well as the twists and turns of the river, not visible from shore. A must for animal lovers, the New Forest Wildlife Park is home to over twenty-five species of animals including otters, bison, wolves and lynxes.
