Why did you choose the Montagu Arms in the New Forest?

After visiting the Montagu arms in the New Forest one Summer for an afternoon tea, we decided that the Montagu arms was the place for us to get married in Hampshire. Exceptional staff, exquite food and a beautiful setting for our special day.

What food did you choose?

After a wonderful experience at our menu tasting, we chose the following;

Salmon and cod fish cakes with tartare sauce and rocket salad
Chicken Caesar salad with parmesan and croutons

Braised Beef Cheek with Creamed potato, pickled red cabbage and local greens 
Pan Fried Chicken with Potato Terrine, Smoked Bacon and Onion

Orange Creme Brulee with shortbread
Bitter Chocolate Delice with Coffee Ice Cream & Chocolate Crumb

The Montagu Arms were very accommodating with the dietary needs of our guests.

Who was your florist and what did you choose?

Jo Hicks; there are florists, and then there’s Jo hicks!  After meeting Jo hicks at the Montagu Arms, we knew she was the right person for us. She is incredibly knowledgable and has an extraordinary eye for detail. The flowers were exactly what we wanted. 

 

The décor – what was the styling and theme of the day?

We wanted a ‘Country’ feel to our wedding, so a country house hotel  in the New Forest was a perfect wedding venue, and we wanted to incorporate some of our Orchids from home.

Gabi could not have done a better job! She makes you feel instantly comfortable and we loved her storytelling style of photography. she captured all the emotions, feelings and precious moments that made our wedding day uniquely ours.

What was the best part of the day?

Everything! Every second was perfect, but if we had to say one thing it would be sharing the day with those who are closest to us. 
 

Any Words of wisdom?

Be present - family members and the photographers are there to capture your moments. 
Enjoy every single second, it goes so quickly
Incorporate vases in your decor so that guests can take Jo’s beautiful flowers home
