Real Weddings | Mitch & Sarah

Mitch proposed at the Eiffel Tower restaurant in Vegas in Nov 2013 Why did you choose The Montagu Arms Hotel for your wedding?: We fell upon it by chance! A friend and I (Sarah) were in the New Forest looking at possible wedding venues. We parked in the Montagu Arms car park to walk to the local tea room and walked through the gardens. On our way back we popped in to get a brochure and I met with Clara and that was it - I fell in love!

I had a Justin Alexander dress which I found in a bridal store but at the time we were planning a wedding in Vegas so it wouldn't have suited. But as soon as I saw the Montagu Arms, I knew the dress would go perfectly. I only went to the one bridal store but I knew that was the one I wanted.

 

 

My sister and my 2 best friends were bridemaids. They wore full length deep red dresses with lace tops. We bought them online and put in  their measurements so it was a bit risky but they all fit and looked great. We had an issue on the day as one of the zips was stuck and we couldn't get it done up and it ended up breaking! But she carried it well and didn't cause a fuss at all.

The ceremony was very personal to us - having 2 readings and putting together our owns vows. We had tears, humour and fun - couldn't have asked for any more.

We more than double our guests for the reception and put on bacon rolls and cake for all evening guests. It went down a treat! We had a DJ and photobooth for the evening which we had a big guest book for people to stick their photos and write a note to us.

I found a bouquet on pinterest that had light pink roses with red berries, rosemary and was sat in a basket of twigs. Sounds wierd but it was beautiful and perfect for the time of year and venue.

We wrnt with a mild Vegas theme with the table names, order of service but also kept to Christmas with deep reds and greens. I bought christmas scented yankee candle tea lights which were the perfect touch for me as the room was filled with the smell of Christmas and people noticed too.

 

The day went perfectly from start to finish. The staff were there every step of the way and nothing was too much bother. The venue was stunning and fit our personalities and time of year to a T.

The room where we had the sit down meal was amazing. It was warm, intimate and festive! The best part was having everyone we love so close and enjoying such amazing food.
