Real Wedding - Michele & Richard

Michele and Richard met in 2015 and soon became inseparable. After living together for several years it felt like the next natural step to get engaged and start planning a big wedding to celebrate their union with all their freinds and family. However, it was soon made clear that covid restrictions would put an end to these plans but they were determined to go ahead and immediately fell head over heels with The Montagu Arms.

On Friday 11^th December 2020, the couple's micro-wedding turned out more than they could have ever wished for.

"It is a beautiful, serene setting with a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere; something we noticed the moment we arrived to first meet with Clara, the wedding coordinator", says Michele. "The Oakwood Room is perfect for micro-weddings, with the beautiful fireplace and wood panelling giving the room a romantic and cosy feel."

The Decor

"As we were getting married so close to Christmas, we decided that it would be nice to incorporate the lovely decor at The Montagu into our wedding. We chose not to have a floral decoration for the fireplace and instead kept the Christmas decorations and tree."

The Flowers

"Jo Hicks provided us with the most amazing floral arrangements. We chose neutral, soft tones for the flowers paired with greenery and wintery thistles.These served us so beautifully for both the ceremony and for our meal. The bridal bouquet and buttonholes holes were perfectly matched."

"Richard, Kevin (father of the bride) and Paul (bride's brother) wore a navy blue three piece suits from Marks and Spencer's, with a gold tie and pocket square." 

The Dress

"My dress was from Butterfly Bridal Boutique in Bicester. I chose Robyn by Ronald Joyce in Champagne and paired it with a simple blush veil."

"My hair and makeup was done by Kerry and Lynn of Beautiful Brides. They are a great team and also did hair and makeup for both mothers."

"We chose to have a fizz and canapé reception to allow us time to have some photographs taken before we sat down for our meal."

"Az from Lemontree Photography was fantastic and took us to the gardens to get some photos alone. We then got family photos by the beautiful fireplace in the foyer. Az has produced beautiful photos of our day. He captured natural moments of emotion and pure joy."

The food was delicious and the service impeccable. We chose food that we felt was fitting of a winter celebration and trying to consider seasonal foods.

For starters we had Beef Croquette or Leek and Potato Veloute - both were delicious. For the main we chose Pan fried Chicken breast, Roast Loin of Pork, and Mushroom Ptihivier. Dessert was Caramelised Lemon Tartlet, Chocolate Truffles and Coffee. 

Clara is great and was always on hand to answer our many questions in the run up to the wedding. On the day, she was fantastic. Ensuring everything was running smoothly and that we were all where we should be at the right times!

We could not have wished for more for our wedding, it was perfect. So we extend our thanks and gratitude to Clara and all at The Montagu Arms for making it happen. We cannot wait to come back!
