The Terrace Restaurant In The New Forest - Where Are Our Ingredients From?

High quality dining is not just down to fantastic and innovative recipes and cooking skills. That’s not to say those qualities aren’t important – of course they are.

However there is more to this level of dining than meets the eye. Ensuring we source our kitchen ingredients from local and reliable producers is of the utmost importance to us.
 
It’s important because knowing our food has come from a respectable and trusted source means we can serve our guests the most delicious food possible, with the confidence in knowing exactly where that food has come from.
 
The Terrace Restaurant | Where are our ingredients from?
 
We do what we can to source food as close to our hotel as possible. Just down the road from us is Neil at Pondhead farm. He supplies us with all of our dry cured bacon, handmade sausages and all types of other cuts of pork.
 
Just next to Exbury Gardens in the New Forest, you’ll find the fantastic John and Catriona who provide the most flavoursome seasonal vegetables. Whoever said salad was bland clearly hasn’t tried John’s lettuce and cherry tomatoes!

Our scallops are from Scotland – because we much prefer the taste. They are extra-large hand dived scallops, and are caught packed and shipped to us overnight – meaning they are very succulent and tasty!
 
Not far from our location in Brockenhurst is Beaulieu, where we source our Beef from the ‘Hercules Herd’. Our prime sirloin, fillet and rump all come from this fantastic location, as well as the ‘lesser’ brisket, giving us the opportunity to create some mouth-watering dishes with this different style of meat.
 
But this isn’t it - our lamb comes from Dan in Pennington, our hand churned butter comes from just down the road in Dorset, our lobster and our crab and oysters come from Joan in Lymington!
 
However we couldn’t forget the source of our ingredients which truly is closest to us. If you step right outside our back door, you’ll find courgettes, tomatoes, salad leaves, Jerusalem artichokes, runner beans, carrots and beetroot – all home grown by our gardener Jim! And who can forget our beautiful chickens – who produce fresh eggs for your breakfast every morning?
