Cruise The Beaulieu River With Our Latest Break

20th Jul 2016

Have you ever enjoyed a boat ride on a private river?

There are only a few in the world that are privately owned and one of them winds its way around the historic New Forest.

The river was once known as the River Exe, but is now commonly known as the Beaulieu River, named after the beautiful village in which it is primarily located. The word ‘Beaulieu’ is French for ‘beautiful place’. The river, including the river bed is owned by Lord Montagu of Beaulieu. This ownership derives from the rights granted to the monks of Beaulieu Abbey by King John in 1204. It really is an area steeped in fascinating history.

Now the evenings are lighter and the chill has faded, there is no nicer way to relax than in the fading sunlight whilst cruising along the tranquil waterway. This tranquil experience is offered with our latest hotel special offer and is accompanied by commentary describing the fascinating history behind the area and the wildlife which surrounds it too. There really is no better place to appreciate them than in the New Forest.

The Best of British Special Break includes the choice of either a romantic cruise along Beaulieu River, or tickets to Beaulieu Motor Museum however, book 2 nights at The Montagu Arms Hotel and you will be able to enjoy both.

There has never been a better time to visit this hotel in Beaulieu so please take a look at our current New Forest breaks and book your visit this summer.
