Spring cocktail recipes

As winter turns to spring, our tastes also evolve with the seasons. For drinks, that means refreshing and light cocktails which are a far cry from those hot toddies and winter warmers you’ve come accustomed to.  

At the Montagu Arms, we love to experiment with fresh ingredients we can pick from our very own kitchen garden mixed with the incredible Gins, Vodkas and liqueurs available from our local artisan producers. Here’s 2 really easy cocktail recipes for you to try at home:

cucumber-and-mint-spring-cocktail

Cucumber & Mint Ginito

Ingredients:

  • 35ml Twisted Nose Gin
  • 15ml Chase Elderflower liqueur
  • 15ml Lime
  • 15 ml Elderflower Cordial
  • Cucumber ribbons
  • Mint
  • Soda top

Method:

Pour all the ingredients into a tall glass and mix together with a bar spoon. Garnish with cucumber, a mint sprig and crushed ice

Blackberry and Rosemary Fizz

Ingredients:

  • 35ml Twisted Nose Gin
  • 15ml Crème De Mure
  • 15ml lemon juice
  • 15ml sugar syrup
  • 3 blackberries
  • 1 sprig of rosemary (just the leaves)
  • Soda top

Method:

Crush the blackberries and rosemary in a cocktail shaker to release the flavours. Pour in the Gin, crème de mure, lemon juice and sugar syrup and ice. Shake. Strain into a tumbler glass and top with soda. Garnish with a blackberry and a rosemary sprig.
