Enjoy a fish and chip supper at Monty's Inn

We’re a nation who love our fish and chips – and what could be better on a balmy summer’s evening than sitting on the banks of a river in a picturesque English village, tucking into white, flaky fish in crispy batter and a pile of rustling, golden chips?

As a salute to this iconic British dish, Monty’s Inn is offering a fish and chip takeaway every Friday night from now until the end of September.

The English country pub is known for its heritage cooking and classic British favourites, and head chef Robbie Mclean has created a fish and chip supper perfect for enjoying on the banks of the Beaulieu River, just a pebble’s throw from the pub.

Robbie encases sustainable-sourced haddock in light, crispy batter made with Ringwood ale, and twice cooks Maris Piper potatoes for the perfect golden chips – crisp on the outside, and fluffy on the inside.

The fish and chip supper is perfect washed down with a Beaulieu Bitter or Montagu Lager, which has been created in conjunction with Piddle Brewery, and is exclusive to Monty’s Inn and the Montagu Arms.

Monty’s Inn is in the perfect spot for a takeaway. Nestled in the heart Beaulieu, this picturesque forest village dates back to the 13^th century and sits at the head of the tidal Beaulieu River.

New Forest ponies wander through the cobbled streets lined with Georgian cottages, and peaceful riverside and country walks start from the door of this stylish country pub.
