5 Places to Visit in the New Forest Part 3

1st Sep 2015

Welcome to this wonderful National Park in Hampshire. If you’re looking to make the most of the great outdoors and see all the New Forest has to offer, take a look at the list below for some of our top recommendations.

Furzey Gardens

Furzey Gardens is a public garden on the edge of Minstead, a picturesque village in the New Forest. If you like a calming stroll take some time and enjoy this small garden, it’ll take you about an hour to get round. The garden is filled with wildlife, connecting walkways and a large variety of trees, flowers and shrubs to admire.

Often considered the capital of the forest is Lyndhurst Village. Located in a central point of the forest, it is home to around 3,000 residents and receives thousands of visitors every year. The village of Lyndhurst is less than a 15 minute drive from The Montagu Arms, it really is an idyllic day out if you’re staying with us, whatever the weather!

Buckland Rings

Located in Lymington, just a few miles from the hotel is the historical Buckland Rings. This is the site of an old Iron Age hill fort and its mounds and dykes are still clearly visible today. The site provides a peaceful walk, taking in the historical tale around you.

Breamore House

This Elizabethan manor house is situated in Fordingbridge. The manor house is famous for its large collection of paintings and furniture and open to the public at certain times of the year.
