After trudging across the heath land, with the dog cheerfully following behind, nothing rounds of a good walk better than a crisp pint of ale at a pub in the New Forest.
Right in the heart of Beaulieu village is Monty’s Inn, a proper country pub where dogs are welcome.
Step inside to homely surroundings and inhale the smell of juicy steak and home-made burgers as you choose that long awaited pint. Take your first big swig and sink down into a comfy leather chair with the dog by your side.
Our homely country pub offers a variety of ales, 3 of which are locally sourced from Ringwood Brewery.
The Boon Doggle
First off, we’d like to introduce a summer favourite, the Boon Doggle - The perfect summer refresher.
At 4.2% this blonde ale is named after the American term “The Boon Doggle” meaning “work of little value”, which the brewery have re-interpreted to offer any excuse for a pint! With a citrus and punchy aroma on the nose, it has a well-balanced taste and is a favourite amongst both women and men.
The Forty Niner
The Forty Niner is our special golden brown Ale at 4.9%. With a fresh malty taste, this full bodied beer has been brewed at Ringwood brewery since 1978.
Light on the nose, this premium ale is perfect if you like a strong balance with a bitter-sweet finish.
Finally, an ale that needs no introduction and the ultimate favourite amongst lovers of Ringwood, is the Best Bitter. At 3.8%, it’s a silky rich brown in colour and slightly fruity on the nose with a sweet yet bitter balance.
This classic favourite is easy to drink and was the first of Ringwood’s Brewery ales and is easily the most popular amongst all 3 Ales.
Nothing complements a real ale better than a homemade suet crust pie or a crispy scotch egg, so be sure to take a look at the Monty’s Inn menu during your visit - there’s even a selection of treats available for your four-legged friend!
