Listening To Music Can Alter How You Taste Your Food!

13th Aug 2020

This latest discovery comes after years of evolving our understanding of how music influences people's shopping habits. For example, by playing French music in a wine store, more French wine was bought.

However, now we’re beginning to understand that certain genres of music allow us to enjoy our food differently. Studies show that music can evoke different emotions within you, allowing your taste buds to be influenced.

Little research has been done into this previously, so it’s an exciting new avenue for scientists to be exploring. Currently, they have experimented with 2 quite diverse genres; Jazz vs. Hip Hop.

Jazz as it turns out, is a particular genre of music that has a positive effect on our taste buds, especially while eating comforting food. Maybe this is why for years, Jazz music has been so popular on a Sunday afternoon of food related indulgence?

All we know is that at the Montagu Arms, we have the perfect Sunday afternoon set up - with scientific proof!

With a sumptuous 3 course lunch to indulge in and a live Jazz band to listen to – the combination of food and music will never have been better.

Having played together for over 25 years, The Chris Walker Swingtet promise to deliver an afternoon of uplifting and relaxing music.

So why not while away your afternoon by eating our award-winning food in the heart of the New Forest and listening to the beautiful music of an acclaimed local Jazz band?
Join us on 17th August for the perfect Sunday afternoon at the Montagu Arms. For more information, please contact our Special Events Co-ordinator Clara Earp on 01590 612324.
