Traditional Afternoon Tea In The New Forest, Hampshire
The unique charm of the 17th Century country house hotel lives up to its welcoming heritage as a former coaching in.
Guests will enjoy an unforgettable afternoon tea experience in quintessential English surroundings as tea is taken in the Victorian styled Magnolia Lounge with cosy log fires or in the conservatory overlooking the manicured gardens.
Under the direction of award winning chef Matthew Tomkinson, the hotel’s passionate pastry chef will present an afternoon tea reminiscent of the rituals of its 1840’s origins, but with a twist. Tea at The Montagu Arms offers a unique ‘course by course’ tasting journey starting with a savoury selection of delicate finger sandwiches and an array of sweet treats, before arriving at freshly baked scones served with homemade jam and clotted cream. Your afternoon tea will be perfectly accompanied by a selection of finest loose leaf teas and fairtrade coffee.
The prestigious Tea Guild awarded The Montagu Arms winner of the Top Country House Hotel Tea for 2013/14, making it the best venue outside of London to enjoy afternoon tea.
Two car parks are located to the rear of the hotel with garage spaces also available. Disabled spaces are located at the front of the hotel. If the car park is full, please ask for assistance at reception and a member of our team will be delighted to park your car for you.
